LANDSCAPING ESTIMATORJOB DESCRIPTION
The Landscaping Estimator's responsibilities will consist of a continuous flow of profitable new business to the company, in accordance with Greenwork’s sales and marketing plan and goals. They will execute the sales and customer relations policies, maintain and improve the company’s competitive position to increase market share. The Landscaping Estimator will monitor installation/services and customers’ perceptions and attitudes toward the services provided. They will identify and communicate to production any specific customer preferences or requests for service and immediately work to provide solutions to any customer complaints.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinate sales efforts with business partners (subcontractors) in other divisions to increase market share. Assist in goal setting and planning.
- Prospect for new business, developing relationships with general contractors, builders, commercial developers, property, and others. Plans and maintains adequate cold and warm calls/leads to cover the market as needed.
- Represents the company at various events, organizations, and associations for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business. Acts in the capacity of the company representative and develop community ties to enhance the public image and brand of the company. Maintains positive relations with other companies in the industry and related industries.
- Participates in various industry associations to increase knowledge of the marketplace, sales opportunities, selling techniques, and best practices.
- Prepares and presents proposals in a complete and professional manner, according to company standards. Follows up on all estimates/bids and offers value-engineered solutions to customers.
- Sells projects at approved prices to meet or exceed targeted profit margins.
- Provide feedback to appropriate parties regarding pricing, competition, and other market observations. Exploits changing market opportunities and responds to competitor strategies.
- Conduct site inspection and assessment with estimators/designers and/or production management to determine soil type, slope, drainage, exposure, and existing structures, features, roads, and utilities that will affect the project.
- Maintains record and tracking of all proposals in progress and provides timely follow-up to maximize sales opportunities. Aggressively pursues all proposals in progress.
- Helps to maintain a company-owned database of current customers, prospective customers, and past customers to support marketing and sales efforts.
- Work closely with the account manager and production staff regarding scheduling, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain keen awareness and provide candid feedback to management and marketing on customer relationships and customers’ perceptions of the product and services being provided, to maximize customer retention.
- Regularly visits job sites and communicates to appropriate parties any problem areas and works to find an immediate resolution.
- Anticipate customer needs with positive solutions in a timely manner. Assists in the sales of change orders and extra contracted work.
- Is aware of billing and collection status on all projects/customers and advises the office administration on any credits or collections.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including the ability to work overtime, holidays, evenings, or weekends as necessary.
- Provides and facilitates team support as needed.

- Actual sales to budget
- Close ratio on proposals presented
- Margin on projects sold - pricing at targeted or above target margins
- Accuracy and completeness of sales, customer, prospect database information
- Development of loyal/repeat/referral customer base
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Customer service/sales experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Valid Washington Driver’s License and the ability to pass a driving background check
- Effective time management skills
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications (But not required)
Bachelors or Associates Degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
