Responsibilities :
- Provide technical support and assess risk for technical decisions for Nimitz (CVN 68) and Ford (CVN 78) Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and System Engineering Manager (SEM).
- Provide engineering assessment, research, and problem resolution utilizing Nimitz (CVN 68) and / or Ford (CVN 78) operational experience.
- Provide responses to requests for technical assistance or adjudication received via letter, Departure from Specification (DFS), Liaison Action Request (LAR), Availability Work Package (AWP) Change Request.
- Participate and coordinate technical approval letters for Technical Assessment Team (TAT) reviews for Ship Change Documents (SCDs).
- Review Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs) for Planned Maintenance System (PMS) changes requiring Designated Technical Representative (DTR) review.
- Coordinate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, TYCOM, PMS 312, PMS 378, SUPSHIP Newport News, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), Ship Repair Facility (SRF), & other activities to resolve technical matters.
- Review technical data packages, drawings, reports, logistics products, training, etc. and provide technical recommendations.
- Develop formal presentations to brief to senior officials.
- Review ship, procurement, and systems specifications and submit proposals for changes.
