What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Greer Enterprises LLC?
Position Summary:
The Dispatch position plans routes for inbound and outbound waste pickups. They are accountable for the performance and efficiency of our drivers, as well as ensuring that the company transportation department adheres to all of its compliance obligations. They are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the company’s commercial fleet. The Dispatch reports to the Operations Manager.
Position Duties:
- Schedules waste pickups and other project work daily.
- Performs logistical coordination of all Greer Enterprises resources.
- Interacts with vendors to coordinate the outbound shipment of waste into the designated facility.
- Ensures timely removal of waste within regulatory guidelines.
- Prepares and files quarterly IFTA taxes. Prepares and files annual renewal in November (cab cards, IFTA stickers)
- Control container supply through weekly material inventory and submission to their supervisor and/or admin.
- Responsible for maintenance of all company-owned equipment.
- Maintains working log of vehicle maintenance records. Schedules maintenance as required.
- Keeps a working log of project equipment and the service dates and records.
- Procurement of rental equipment needed for jobs.
- Management of driver timesheets and expense reports.
- Supervisory capacity over the drivers. Responsible for hiring, discipline, termination, and training of drivers.
- Other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate exceptional supervisory skills and the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be a detailed-oriented person and must have the ability to multi-task.
- Possess a current, detailed knowledge of federal USDOT regulations pertaining to waste transportation.
- Have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of each department within Greer Enterprises, LLC as well as the responsibilities of all co-workers.
- Ability to work with others as a team and to maintain a positive attitude.
- Must be physically able to work in conditions where use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Have a working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
