What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Limestone Miner position at Greer Industries, Inc.?
Summary: Greer Industries, Inc. is seeking Underground Limestone miners. The positions will perform a variety of duties in an underground mine setting. Positions include: Heavy Equipment Operators, Welders, Blasters, Plant Operators, Mechanics, Electricians, Laborers, etc.
What you'll get to do:
- Work safely and follow all federal and state laws and regulations as well as Company and Site Specific policies.
- Be willing to work in an underground environment.
- Safely and efficiently operate mobile equipment in an underground environment.
- Conduct and document pre-operational safety inspections on assigned equipment.
- Perform maintenance on plant equipment.
- Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or management.
- Be able to work weekends and overtime as business demands dictate.
- Perform within the guidelines of federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous Mining Experience
- Experience working in an underground/surface mine environment
- Frequently lift 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- MSHA Part 48 training (Recommended)
- Must pass Company/ATF background investigation
- Complies with all federal, state, and local guidelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
