We are seeking a Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and personnel
- Plan, direct, and manage the accounting operations for both third-party properties, as well as corporate books.
- Supervise, train, and develop a large accounting staff of fifteen direct reports.
- Review monthly financial statements prepared by internal staff for third-party properties.
- Communicate with our clients and provide first-class customer service with accurate and timely responses.
- Function as a liaison between our clients’ tax preparers and/or auditors where applicable.
- Prepare the monthly corporate financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable, corporate management fees/billbacks, and corporate accounts receivable.
- Manage property cash to ensure third-party bank accounts are adequately funded.
- Review third-party monthly/quarterly/annual distribution calculations.
- Oversee onboarding/offboarding process with various ownership groups to ensure accounting needs are addressed for third-party owners.
- Manage 1099 reporting process.
- Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures with continuous focus on process improvement to increase accounting efficiency and proper internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management
- Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
- Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
- Conduct internal audits to assess financial status
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting management or other related fields
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Master’s degree in accounting and/or CPA preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills.
- Multiple entity experience preferred.
Salary : $105,000 - $125,000
