One of the top performing, Commercial General Contractors, based out of New York, Gregor Industries, is seeking a talented,
Construction Safety Manager to join our Team of Professionals. This position will lead the efforts to manage and guide the company to assure that we have the safest workplace and practices possible for our employees and the people we interact with.
Job Description:
- maintains the safety training requirements and associated methods of communication for our work place
- Performs data analysis on accident and violation information to determine focus areas for remediation, prevention and risk management
- Work with other safety managers, supervisors, and inspectors to ensure consistency and compliance
- Ensure that workers have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, gloves, goggles, and boots
- Conduct daily site inspections to check for potential hazards
- Write and submit weekly safety reports to document hazards, safety plans, and worker safety concern
- Proven experience in construction management or similar role is essential
- Strong knowledge of compliance management practices within the construction industry
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or four year equivalent degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Science, or related field preferred but not required
- 3 year experience in construction, preferably in a management role responsible for the actions of other safety professionals on site
- Working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
- Capable of identifying known/potential exposures and recommending corrective actions
- Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs
- Current and up to date safety training to include: OSHA 30-hour in Construction, NYC DOB SST 62-hour, NYC DOB 40-hour Site Safety Manager Course, SSPC/AMPP C-3/C-5 Competent Person Lead Removal, NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector License, MTA NYCT Track Training Certification, among others
