Position Overview: The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Construction Manager and Project Manager to ensure the smooth execution of commercial construction projects. This role involves assisting with project planning, coordination, and execution, while also ensuring adherence to quality, safety standards, and budget constraints.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager to develop and implement comprehensive project plans, quality assurance plans, and health and safety protocols.
- Support the Project Manager in planning and executing building construction projects from start to finish.
- Order and coordinate materials required for the project, ensuring timely delivery and accurate quantities.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating daily construction activities to ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide administrative support to the Project Manager, including documentation and communication.
- Work closely with employees to ensure their satisfaction throughout the construction process and monitor project performance.
- Help analyze construction issues and work with the Project Manager to find immediate solutions.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor the construction process for any potential delays or issues and report them to the supervisor.
- Identify project milestones, potential problem areas, and recommend preventive actions to keep the project on track.
- Attend workshops, training, and conferences to continue professional development.
- Review and analyze Requests for Information (RFIs) and assist with processing change orders.
- Assist in generating progress and expense reports for management.
- Help establish project budgets and schedules alongside the Project Manager and ensure adherence.
- Monitor and manage project expenses to stay within the approved budget.
- Recommend cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Regularly complete Daily Reports using Procore or equivalent project management software.
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably in commercial construction.
- Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with Outlook and other communication tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
