Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in General Contracting to lead and oversee construction projects in the commercial sector. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction process, from planning through execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the construction team in developing detailed project plans, including quality assurance and health and safety plans.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure that all construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive Gantt-style schedules using Microsoft Project, tracking key project timelines, milestones, and critical paths to ensure timely completion.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, ensuring that all orders align with the project schedule and that quantities are accurate.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct daily construction activities to ensure project milestones are met and timelines are adhered to.
- Provide strategic administrative support to project teams to facilitate smooth operations.
- Foster a collaborative environment among project teams and encourage employee satisfaction throughout all construction phases.
- Proactively identify potential construction issues and implement timely resolutions to avoid delays.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and concerns, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track construction progress, identify delays, and communicate with stakeholders. Provide regular updates and reports on project status.
- Recognize key project milestones and challenges, recommending corrective or preventive actions to keep the project on track.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and conferences to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Review RFI responses, process change orders, and maintain timely documentation of all project-related changes.
- Prepare and monitor construction progress reports, budgets, and expense analyses to ensure financial control and transparency.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or efficiency.
- Complete daily project reports using Procore (our project management system), documenting progress, challenges, and resolutions.
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within commercial construction, specifically with General Contracting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling, and familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required (company-provided training available if necessary).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to meet project deadlines and maintain a positive work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the construction process.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
