Position Overview: Gregor Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor - Facilities Technician to join our team on a per diem basis in the Rochester, NY area. This role requires a proactive, hands-on individual with a strong background in commercial construction and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple trades and be comfortable working nights and weekends as required. A background in carpentry is a plus.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain a managerial presence on job sites throughout the day to ensure that work is progressing according to schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate multiple trades on the job site, ensuring efficient execution of all construction activities.
- Prepare, implement, and adhere to an effective construction schedule, ensuring that all activities align with contract timelines and milestones.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, consultants, and company personnel to resolve issues and ensure the smooth running of projects.
- Assist with the design and implementation of strategies for contractors to meet project specifications and timelines.
- Develop estimates for change orders and perform regular checks on construction activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all record drawings, design documents, and safety protocols. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Oversee and manage health and safety programs on-site, ensuring that all employees, visitors, and contractors follow proper safety practices.
- Develop and facilitate employee safety training programs. Ensure all employees and contractors are trained in job hazards and safety practices.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and contractors. Maintain strong relationships and ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage facility work orders, performing necessary duties as directed by the Lead or Chief Facilities Maintenance Technician. Complete tasks within established timelines.
- Must have a working knowledge of all trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
- Oversee the work performed by outside contractors, ensuring it complies with building codes and safety regulations. Inspect work to verify quality and adherence to contract requirements.
- Maintain inventory of lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and other building-related supplies and tools. Proactively inspect and manage the appearance and condition of the facilities.
- Responsible for scheduling and maintaining the company vehicle, including routine service like oil changes and alignments. Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times. Ensure the company vehicle is used appropriately and is not used for personal purposes.
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of 3 years in commercial construction or facilities maintenance with supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle unexpected challenges effectively.
- Experience working with various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and electrical.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting work, taking photos/videos, and interacting with clients and team members.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites within the NY area.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
- Valid Driver's License
- OSHA 30 Certification
- DOB Certification
- SST 62 Certification
Pay Range
USD $32.00 - USD $59.61 /Hr.Salary : $32 - $60
