What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman position at Greiner Buildings, Inc?
Coordinate and supervise the activities of the crewmen in construction needs for all phases of building projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspects blueprints and material lists to ensure all aspects of the project are understood and can be executed.
- Communicate with the Inventory/Purchasing Department in regard to materials/needed or that special requirements of the customer can be achieved.
- Coordinate scheduling of inspections with Project Manager and county officials.
- Assess the fastest and easiest way to complete a job without sacrificing quality of the work being done.
- Coordinates with the General Manager and Project Mangers to ensure job is finished in a timely manner.
- Provide professional leadership and training of crew members for future supervisory roles.
- Lead by example in creating a safe, organized work environment. Follow all current OSHA and company guidelines and procedures.
- Performs and promotes safe and proper use and maintenance of all tools and equipment.
- Understands and enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
- Make sure the job site is kept in a clean and orderly manner.
- Must excel at problem solving and customer service.
- Manage the care of equipment and crew truck, keeping the rig clean and organized as well as properly stocked with tools and equipment.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Class A Commercial Driver's License and current medical card
- Prior leadership in construction
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, various types of weather and at heights up to 30 feet.
- Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule. Arrive prior to 6 am start of shift and working approximately 50 hours/week. Willing to work extra hours when needed such as good weather conditions, completing work before bad weather, and taking care of demanding customer situations.
- Ability to operate construction hand tools and other specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Overnights may occasionally be required (crew members receive paid hotel rooms and per diem)
