Leads, trains, and develops a team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial accounting, ownership of monthly close activities, quarterly and year-end closing processes.
Builds cross-functional relationships with key external and internal stakeholders in Operations, Commercial and Global team members.
Standardizes and strengthens accounting processes such as account reconciliation. A / P, A / R, IFRS and reporting
Reviews and submits IFRS semi- and annual packages and notes.
Manages Fixed asset accounting and reporting in collaboration with the controlling and engineering teams.
Reviews intercompany postings for accuracy and completeness for month end submissions
Closely monitors and works with AP team to ensure all invoices are routed from inbox daily.
Ensures proper training, resources and SOPs for critical tasks are kept updated and thoroughly documented. SOPs, and relevant documents are to be kept in centralized location.
Drives improvements in the execution of global financial accounting policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Oversees intercompany transactions, charges, and reconciliations
Oversees general accounting functions; including accounts payable, accounts receivables, concur, and fixed assets to maintain financial stability and integrity
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive improvements, cost control and cost avoidance initiatives and operational efficiency
Manages accounting deliverables and communications with internal and external audit teams; audit requests and inquiries supporting year-end closing, customer audits and compliance testing

Authority
The Financial Accounting Manager is a senior business partner to the organization providing leadership support to the GBO-NA Executive Leadership Team and is a member of the Senior Leadership team.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for driving performance as measured against KPIs, continued development of a high-performance team, overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and general accounting per GAAP and relevant IFRS rules, month end close, fixed assets, and sales and use tax reporting, tax risk mitigation in partnership with our auditors, as well as other accounting activities.
The Accounting Manager will also drive continuous improvements in Business Excellence as it relates to accounting, digitization and other initiatives that enforce internal controls and establish efficiencies, while continuing to meet and exceed on-time and accurate general accounting deadlines. This is critical to this role and the mindset of growth and improvement this position drives.
The accounting manager should be comfortable working closely with senior level management, at a local & global level, to drive business decisions and ensure the highest level of accounting integrity. The ideal candidate will also work collaboratively inside and outside of the accounting function in a fast-paced environment and should foster an environment of inclusiveness, flexibility, and transparency.
The accounting manager should challenge the legacy thoughts and processes to raise the level of performance and efficiency in all processes. The ideal candidate would do well to be agile and able to handle multiple high priorities at once.
Your Profile
5-7 years of leadership and direct experience in the general accounting field in the manufacturing industry, with successes in the areas as mentioned
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
SAP R3 or S4 / HANA experience, 3 years
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree
Broad US GAAP knowledge and experience with its application
IFRS 9, 15 & 16 a plus
Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting / audit
Experience implementing or upgrading new systems and processes (ERP, ACH, Taxation, etc.)
5 years of experience establishing and executing accounting processes in a fast-paced environment
Ability to view complex / conflicting perspectives, identify issues and propose solutions / alternatives
Lean or Six Sigma experience is a plus
Advanced excel and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and drive process improvements
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage confidential or sensitive information with discretion
Ability to use data retrieval applications (Hyperion, Tagetik, AFO, Fluence, BW, BI) a plus (will teach)
