What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator - Routing (Dispatch) position at Grey Eagle Distributors?
Department: Operations
Position reports to: Delivery Manager
Schedule: Monday - Friday 12 PM - 8:30 PM
Primary purpose and function of position:
Responsible for routing orders for next day delivery while supporting all delivery & warehouse departmental functions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Route orders for next day delivery utilizing VIP, Roadnet routing software
- Utilize truck loading software after routing is complete and place all contents in the correct bays for the case pickers to execute
- Assist with identifying any issues/ideas/solutions that will enhance the operation.
- Answer phones as necessary from customers, both internal and external
- Support all delivery and warehouse operations as needed
- Supervise night loader, driver and day warehouse union employees.
- Establish daily manpower requirements for loading and delivery drivers
- Work within the parameters of the current collective bargaining agreement.
- Other duties as needed
- High school diploma or GED certificate required
- Must be 21 years of age to comply with state and federal liquor regulations
- Shift is Monday through Friday 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
- Some overtime will be required
- Distribution experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must meet state age requirements
- Valid driver license
- Highly self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
- Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong internal and external customer orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with local, state and federal liquor laws
