Job Description
Are you looking for a role that offers leadership opportunities, influence daily operations, and contributes to important community work? As the General Manager, you will manage the Brainerd, Minnesota publication to achieve revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage the day-to-day operational activity of the Brainerd Dispatch to ensure revenue goals and expense budgets are met.
- Provide guidance to team members to ensure company goals and objectives are achieved.
- Coach and manage local advertising sales team members to develop advertising strategies and attain revenue targets.
- Work closely with Vice Presidents to align on strategy and prepare annual budgets, collaborate on sales opportunities, and continuously collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Circulation, and Commercial Printing teams.
- Provide local market intelligence to company-wide leadership.
- Communicate with the business office regarding revenue forecasting, payments, sales variances, etc.
- Assist with employee recruitment, hiring, supervision of new hire sales training program, staff development, and participate in succession planning for key leadership roles.
- Ensure the local business is profitable and sustainable long-term, identifying ongoing expense improvement measures to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Represent the brand through engagement with civic groups, interacting with local business leaders, and representing each location at community events.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field, plus six to ten years of related experience and/or training.
Proven history of successful leadership with qualities such as visionary, high energy, self-managing, effective communicator, fostering creativity and innovation, and managing complexity.
Experience cultivating an active network of relationships, driving collaboration and alignment, relating well to key colleagues, and connecting with all employees.
