Title : Director, Production Operations – Special Projects

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the operations of our non-mainline product categories, including special collections, private label products, and licensed products for major league teams. This role will manage a team responsible for production, planning, allocations, and decorative operations, ensuring seamless collaboration with the mainline production and planning teams.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of apparel operations, forecasting, and domestic production processes, with a focus on customization methods such as embroidery, screen printing, and patch applications. This position is critical in driving efficiency, ensuring quality, and delivering excellence across our non-mainline product lines. Strong project management and time management skills are a must as this role manages dynamic projects and condensed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the non-mainline operations team driving structure and process for this complex area of the business.
  • Oversee the domestic production process for non-mainline products, ensuring timely and high-quality customization of blank garments through embroidery, screen printing, patches, and other decoration methods. This includes managing and building domestic vendor relationships and resources that can support the specific needs of non-mainline product.
  • Create and adhere to annual budget for Inventory, Margin & Revenue. Track performance to budget in partnership with Finance, Planning & Production teams.
  • Provide forecasting and planning of blank garment needs in collaboration with the mainline production and planning teams within their standard calendar to ensure adequate supply for customization.
  • Oversee planning and production for additional non-mainline product categories and accessories, leveraging private label and domestic manufacturing sources to enhance brand storytelling and marketing initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the founder, creative team, and marketing to develop and execute compelling product assortments that align with brand vision and drive consumer engagement, while ensuring operational feasibility and adherence to budget goals.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to streamline workflows, optimize resource utilization, and meet business objectives for non-mainline products.
  • Serve as a liaison between the non-mainline operations team and cross-functional departments, including mainline production, design, and licensing teams, to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements for major league teams and maintain high standards for product quality and delivery.
  • Mentor and guide team members to foster professional growth and maintain a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in apparel production, operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a Director Level role.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic production processes, especially garment customization techniques (e.g., embroidery, screen printing, patches).
  • Prior exposure to or experience in the planning and / or buying area is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage complex forecasting and inventory planning in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
