What is a Direct Support Professional (DSP)?
Our DSPs play an important role in the lives of young people with intellectual or developmental disabilities who receive supports from Greystone Programs. In our day program, Club ATLAS, located in Warwick, NY, you will engage in a variety of activities that support young people with learn important life skills to enhance independence, achieve personal goals, pursue employment interests and participate in recreational and educational classroom-based or community activities.
Position requires the ability to provide transportation within the local community, so a drivers license is required, along with a safe driving history.
Year-round position, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm.
No previous experience is needed. We look for dependable, compassionate people who would enjoy helping others achieve goals and independence.
This is a job where you can share your hobbies and interests with others and engage in recreational activities with the people you support.
Typical tasks a DSP will do during the course of their shift include hands-on support and instruction, facilitating group activities, providing transportation using our vehicles, assisting people in developing communication and social skills and using our computer systems to document the work you do.
