Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Acme Machines, Multi-spindle screw machines, Multi-spindle CNC machines, and Hydromat rotary transfer machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Adjust machine controls to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from standards and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool wear or material irregularities.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers and supervisors, to optimize production processes and achieve production goals.
- Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Document production activities, including machine settings, tool changes, and quality control measurements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in machining is a plus.
- 3 years of experience as a Machinist or Machine Operator.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
- Experience with Acme Machines, Multi-spindle screw machines, Multi-spindle CNC machines, or Hydromat rotary transfer machines.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and machine maintenance.
