Quality Engineer

General Description / Objective

The Quality Engineer will design, implement and monitor quality controls in production, develop quality reports and improve the current quality management system. Qualification customer process and calibrations is also coordinated by he/she. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager.

Roles and Tasks

• Communicating the quality policy of the company to all departments
• Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing standards, specifications, drawings and procedures
• Advising other departments on quality requirements
• Designing and implementing work instructions and forms on the basis of the applicable standards and specifications
• Assisting with quality issues by getting to the root of the problems with the implementation of corrective/preventive actions. Proactively recommend solutions that’ll improve Quality of the product with other departments.
• Monitoring the quality process and the effectiveness of quality controls throughout the manufacturing process.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, trends, and data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive corrective actions.
• Ensuring the product is compliant with all requirements and standards
• Developing and implementing quality reports
• Supporting customer audits
• Coordinate Internal Audits in the Product and Process
• Create, review and submitting documentation to the customer for Qualification process and closing NCRS.
• Develop and maintain calibration systems that meet company and industry standards.
• Improving the quality management system.
• Analyzing the waste produced after the different production phases in order to reduce and treat waste properly.

Profile / Professional Competencies / Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

• University Degree in Engineering

Specific Knowledge:

• Technical knowledge: Quality control and management; standards, specifications and procedures applicable to production process and surface treatment in Steel industry/ heavy fabrication; welding and painting standards and specifications
• Ability to interpret drawings and define standards and procedures.
• Personal skills: analytic, precise and organized; able to anticipate, detect and solve problems; excellent in communication and able to build and lead teams; able to manage projects and coordinate project teams.

Languages:

• Fluent English

IT / Technical Knowledge:  

• Advance Microsoft Office

Minimum Experience Required:

• 1 to 3 years of working experience as an Engineer in an industrial environment (ideally in Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding or Wind Tower manufacturing)
•  

Internal Candidates and/or Employees from other GRI factories, are considered competent for this job if they have at least 2 years of experience on similar processes/positions.

Physical and Safety Requirements

The ability to lift 20/40/80 pounds regularly

The ability to move, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp and walk around the manufacturing facility without restrictions

The ability to stand upright on feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

The ability to respond quickly to sounds

The ability to move safely over uneven surfaces or in confined spaces

The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations

The ability to work in extreme weather and wear all required personal protective gear correctly all day

The ability to withstand noise and dust in manufacturing plant and warehouse environment.
