Our Inland Empire region is seeking a Commercial Project Manager for our Riverside, CA office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for GRID’s commercial solar construction projects (~20kW-1MW ) being built on time, to budget, and to the high standards we believe in. The candidate must be committed to GRID Alternatives’ mission of serving low-income communities while creating a successful transition to clean, renewable energy that includes everyone.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interface with clients to help set and meet their expectations
• Bridge transition from development to construction execution and completion
• Create scopes of work and project schedules
• Estimating and budget development
• Oversee engineering and permitting, performing design and reviews and pulling permits as needed
• Work in partnership with the Construction Manager and team and provide direction and troubleshooting where necessary
• Prepare bid packages and conduct due diligence on subcontractors and vendors
• Negotiate contracts and manage subcontractor relations and ensure work is performed as negotiated
• Keep project built to or under budget
• Manage change orders
• Lead the interconnection agreements with the utilities, incentive applications, and other necessary paperwork to finance and energize the project
• Manage all steps of project execution ensuring all necessary steps are completed to high standards
• Lead project meetings and provide project reports and other status updates as required
• Manage and organize project documentation
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 years solar project management experience including projects of at least 100 kW
• 5 years previous experience in project management and/or construction operations
• Experience and understanding of Commercial Scale and Community Solar projects
• Solid understanding of Project Management process
• Ability to problem solve both personnel issues and project issues
• Good record keeping and organizational skills
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft suite, Google suite, CRM/databases, AutoCAD/Revit, and ability to quickly learn new programs including HelioScope, Energy Toolbase, PVWatts Calculator, PV Bid
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and lift 50 lbs safely

Office Location/travel:
GRID Alternatives Inland Empire office is located in Riverside, CA. This position requires some travel to sites throughout the Inland Empire and occasional out-of-town travel. Availability to work nights and weekends maybe required. GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use, but applicant must hold a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position, compensation commensurate with experience.
