What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at GRID Alternatives?
The Opportunity
Help further GRID Alternatives’ mission by participating in the creation of and implementation of organizational strategy. Leading special projects to ensure compliance and improve effectiveness of GRID’s systems and policies, and providing financial analysis, planning and reporting for executive staff and board. The position reports to COO and manages the Controller who in turn manages a team of accountants.

Strategic Business Planning :
- Analyze organizations financial projections to ensure accuracy, identify areas of risk, and inform organizational strategy and decision making
- Assist in creation of organizational budget, including supporting regional Executive Directors and department leads in developing their budgets
- Assist in developing pricing models and program budgets
- Identify organizational needs for financial reporting, and work with Controller to ensure that accounting processes are compatible with these needs
- Work with Controller and Budget Analyst to align budget forecasting tools and accounting records, and to evaluate and implement improvements in accounting tools and processes

This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and / or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ( $180k-$220k annually) , plus the benefits below.
