The Opportunity...
The Construction Field Manager will be a part of the GRID Alternatives' Bay Area regional construction team, leading installation needs in13 counties. They will generally be responsible for the technical, safety and quality aspects of all in-house installations including residential, multifamily and commercial projects.
- Lead commercial and residential installations and perform quality control and commissioning for residential and commercial projects
- Ensure that residential and commercial projects are moving toward completion in a timely manner
- Train and lead all installation construction staff including installation supervisors, construction assistants and construction trainees
- Lead construction safety program
- Scope and site visit potential commercial projects needed for bidding, design and contract negotiations
- Review designs for compliance with GRID Alternatives design and installation standards
- Collaborate with Project Manager and commercial development team to complete all large scale projects
- Troubleshoot technical issues and review PV system designs when necessary
- Work proactively and collaboratively with other GRID teams to meet installation, service call, program and funding-related goals in a timely manner
- Create weekly and monthly installation schedules
- Participate and facilitate construction meetings while emphasizing training, development and learning opportunities for staff
- Lead construction planning for all solar installations
- Provide leadership by clearly communicating GRID's mission, goals, and values
- Provide coaching, technical training and performance reviews for staff
- Scheduling field staff for installations, vacations, and any other needs that may arise
- Perform periodic staff evaluations
- Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure equipment purchases for all installations
- Partner with Project Manager to create project timelines and deliverables
- Other administrative duties

This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and / or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($80k-$95k annually), plus the benefits below.
