Description:
As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you will engage with a team of UXers, product managers, and engineers to determine what users require. You will play a critical part in creating technologies that are valuable, useful, and enjoyable. You will have an impact at all phases of product development by forming cross-functional and cross-level partnerships.
The UXR as a whole will be responsible for conducting and leading early foundational research in order to acquire knowledge about the project and assist stakeholders with project scope, product requirements, and user needs.
Job responsibilities
- Conduct independent research on complex enterprise products to collect and analyze user behavior through a range of mixed methods, including user testing, interviews, surveys, persona development, journey mapping, etc.
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Designers, Product Managers, Engineers) and other researchers to understand research needs, craft and execute studies that address priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Advocate for users and share research findings with audiences of diverse backgrounds, using effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Working remotely with a Product team across multiple time zones.
Minimum qualifications
- Advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of research experience as a User Researcher or in a similar role in industry or in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and strategy.
- Experience working collaboratively with other designers, researchers, product managers and engineers to turn ambiguous problems into actionable solutions.
- Experience leveraging a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.) and analysis techniques in highly-diverse disciplinary environments.
- Research experience in enterprise/business software, services, IT, or other complex software systems.

Preferred qualifications
- Ability to plan and execute short- and long-term research projects addressing complex user problems with minimal direction.
- Ability to work on overlapping projects, prioritize efforts and be self-organized.
- Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
