What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter/Drywaller position at Grid Management?
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting and drywalling techniques and be proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment.
Duties:
- Prepare surfaces for painting such as plastering, frame carpentry, and concrete finishing.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or airless paint spraying equipment.
- Perform minor repairs and renovations as needed.
- Utilize power tools for sanding, scraping, and priming surfaces.
- Caulk gaps and ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for painting.
- Assist with fixture installation and other maintenance person duties.
- Measure, mark, and cut drywall panels according to design plans.
- Fasten panels and tiles to support structures.
- Patch, trim, and smooth rough spots and edges.
- Apply tape and sealing compound to cover joints between wallboards.
- Add coats of sealing compound to create an even surface.
- Sand all joints and holes for a smooth, seamless finish.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Painter with expertise in plastering, frame carpentry, and concrete finishing.
- Proven experience as a Drywall Installer.
- Proficiency in using power tools and equipment for drywalling and painting tasks.
- Experience in caulking and preparing surfaces for painting.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Takes pride in work and has a sense of urgency. Assumes responsibility for all assigned work.
- Able to work independently but also as a member of a larger team.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
- 2-3 years of previous experience in painting and drywall.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to twist, bend and scoop.
- Ability to safely climb a ladder while carrying 20 pounds.
- Ability to move safely in confined spaces.
Education:
- A minimum of High School Diploma or GED required or Trade school equivalency
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
