Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for structural connection analysis review and design for steel structures (Products) to be manufactured by Southland Steel Fabricators, including heavy industrial/commercial projects.

Job Mission
Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for structural connection analysis review and design for steel structures (Products) to be manufactured by Southland Steel Fabricators, including heavy industrial/commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Interpretation of customer specifications, design criteria, and drawings.
- Application of industry codes and governance regarding design of products.
- Coordination with drafting and detailing for the conversion of design information into drawings.
- Communication with customers to gain clarifications and technical decisions where necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in steel design and manufacturing, preferably in the Petro Chemical sector.
- An understanding of steel fabrication, welding procedures, connection design, and quality assurance regarding the products.
- Working competency using IdeaStatica software.
- Working competency using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
- Organizational and time management skills to ensure project schedules are maintained.
- Licensure in multiple states, preferred.
