Position Summary
Southland Steel Fabricators (SSF) is seeking a summer intern to join the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team. This internship will be composed of two main elements. The first is the summer project. All interns will be given a project that they will be responsible for executing on during the timeframe they are with SSF. These projects can vary but will be focused on support of the manufacturing organization. The other component is tasks and activities. These are other tasks as assigned to support the AME team on any of their ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Manage project timeline
- Prepare and present Mid-Term and End-Term reporting on status and summary of project and benefits
- Project: Document operation workflow, create detailed flowcharts and analyze data flows across the sales to shipping departments.
- Other Tasks and Activities (Could include, but not limited to):
- Excel Calculation Work
- Time Studies
- Shop Floor & Process Mapping
- Drawing / CAD Layout Work
- Lean Improvement Activities (5S, Floor Layout Taping, Kaizen Event Participation)
- Current Student in a Technical Major
- Good standing with current college / university
- Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to oversee and inspect project sites.
- Occasional shop work (lifting up to 25lbs)
