Completion of a course of study in a registered School of Practical Nursing approved by the New York

Experience:
1-2 years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting, preferred

- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as, but not limited to, manual blood pressure, height, weight, BMI and pulse
- Assist with patient assessments and documentation of medical histories
- Maintain equipment used in the care of patients
- Observe and monitor patient condition and document these in accordance with nursing standards
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, in accordance with internal and legal regulations
- Assist with examination and in-office treatment by handing providers instruments and materials
- Administer immunizations, injections. May also perform EKG testing, pulse oximetry testing and phlebotomy
- Transport patients in acute, outpatient and long-term care facilities
- Teach and/or assist with patient and family health care teaching as outlined on the care plan or as directed
- Inform nurse or manager of any changes to and current status of patients’ condition
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Deliver exemplary customer service in order to provide a positive experience across the organization
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education:

- Strong clinical skills with proficiency in tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medication, updating patient chart information and assisting with minor procedures.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technology
- Ability to perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and manage follow-up care.
- Critical thinking, time management, strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to handle various clinical situations.
- The pay range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant at the time of posting. When determining pay, several factors will be considered including but not limited to location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, professional credentials, internal equity, and budget.
