Job Description: Utility Locate Technician
Location: Lee's Summit, MO
A Utility Locate Technician is responsible for identifying and marking the location of underground utilities such as gas, electric, water, and telecommunications lines. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Use specialized equipment to locate underground utilities
- Mark the location of utilities using paint, flags, or other markers
- Communicate with contractors, homeowners, and utility companies to ensure accurate marking of utilities
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret maps and blueprints
- Experience with utility locating equipment is a plus
