Utility Locate Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Utility Locate Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities such as gas, electric, water, and sewer lines to prevent damage during construction or excavation projects. The Utility Locate Technician will use specialized equipment and tools to identify the precise location of these utilities and ensure that they are properly marked for safety.

Responsibilities

• Use electronic locating equipment to identify and mark underground utilities
• Read and interpret utility maps and construction plans
• Communicate with contractors, property owners, and utility companies to coordinate locate requests
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines
• Maintain accurate records of locate activities and findings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in utility locating or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
