Network Installation Technician
Location : Fort Meade, MD
Work Type : Hybrid
Remote Work : 50%
Job Description : This technician will support a large federal agency’s Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards.
Clearance Requirement : Must hold an active Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a TS / SCI.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead network survey, design and installations under direction of the government.
- Conduct Site Surveys of customer premise networks in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Create detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site’s current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations.
- Configure, install, test, certify, and troubleshoot network infrastructure cabling.
- Ensure Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST Standards.
- Build and install equipment racks.
- Install, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms.
- Test and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks.
- Create accurate reports and documentation to design / certify network infrastructure.
- Track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Develop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements.
- Plan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades (Life-cycle replacements)
- Investigate physical faults in the network.
- Report network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders.
- Have flexible working hours to be available to support off hour work, when needed.

Compensation and Benefits :
Salary Range : $60,000-$100,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
