We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior NetApp Storage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in NetApp storage systems, Cisco MDS SAN switching, and data protection technologies like NetBackup, SnapCenter, or equivalent. This role demands expertise in disaster recovery (DR), object storage solutions (such as NetApp StorageGRID), and cloud storage integration with Azure Cloud.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the Senior NetApp Storage Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and availability of critical storage systems. The role requires an individual who is meticulous, capable of troubleshooting complex issues, and adept at automating tasks using Ansible, PowerShell, or Python. This position also involves active participation in disaster recovery planning and ensuring the continuity of essential business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
NetApp Storage Management: Administer, configure, and optimize NetApp storage systems (ONTAP, FAS, AFF, and StorageGRID) across large-scale enterprise environments.
SAN & NAS Expertise: Manage Cisco MDS SAN switches, implement fabric design, zoning, and optimization for both SAN and NAS environments.
Data Protection: Implement and maintain data protection solutions (NetBackup, SnapCenter, etc.), ensuring reliable backup and restore processes for critical data.
Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies, ensuring systems are recoverable and data is protected in case of failures.
Automation & Scripting: Utilize Ansible, PowerShell, or Python to automate storage management tasks, improving efficiency and reducing operational overhead.
StorageGRID & Object Storage: Work with NetApp StorageGRID to manage object storage solutions, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise data systems.
Cloud Integration: Assist with the integration of Azure Cloud storage solutions and hybrid cloud environments to ensure scalability and resilience.
Troubleshooting: Provide expert troubleshooting for storage-related issues, focusing on minimizing downtime in high-availability environments.
On-Call Support: Participate in periodic on-call support rotations to address urgent storage issues and incidents promptly.
Documentation & Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage configurations, operational procedures, and disaster recovery protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
8 years of hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions (ONTAP, FAS, AFF, StorageGRID).
Strong understanding of Cisco MDS SAN switches and expertise in SAN and NAS technologies.
Experience with data protection tools such as NetBackup, SnapCenter, or similar backup and recovery solutions.
Proven knowledge of disaster recovery processes and experience implementing recovery strategies in mission-critical environments.
Expertise in automation and scripting using Ansible, PowerShell, or Python to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Excellent troubleshooting skills in high-pressure, high-availability environments.
Experience with Azure Cloud storage solutions and hybrid cloud environments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Availability for on-call support on a periodic basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or equivalent certification.
Experience with cloud storage integration, particularly with Azure Cloud.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; SEC Public Trust clearance is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $45-60/hr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
