What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network/Systems Engineer position at GridNetworks?
We are looking for a Network / Systems Engineer in Reston, Virginia. This position will also require travel to our customer site(s) in Northern Virginia.
What you’ll do…
The Network / Systems Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining a wide variety of Linux based machines and services, assisting Senior Network / Systems Engineers, and mentoring Junior Network / Systems Engineers. The support of these machines and services will require knowledge of not only systems, but an understanding of networking technologies and concepts as well.
You’d be a great fit if you meet the following…
- 5 years related technical work experience
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Are able to configure Open Source Software (Nginx / Apache / HAProxy, Postgres / MySQL, Freeswitch / Asterik)
- Experience setting up VPNs (Wireguard / IPSec / OpenVPN)
- Experience using automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Foreman, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent teamwork
- Top Secret US Government Security Clearance
