We, GridSource, is seeking an Aerial Ground Hand who will support aerial line work by assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial cables, wires, and equipment. This role involves working closely with aerial crews to ensure tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
Actively support and assist all Aerial Construction crews, projects and efforts
Help with site prep and make ready projects in other construction divisions
Operate Bucket truck following all safety and traffic regulations (after passing safety course)
Assist with pole framing and placement of stands
Climb poles as required
Operate hand and power tools of all types
Assist with installation of guys and anchors
Learn how to read and update as-builts
Learn All ASPECTS of Ariel Construction
Follow all directions of aerial crew lead
Assist with direction of traffic flow in accordance with local D.O.T. guidelines
Mentor new hires as required
Have & maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner
Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments
Support the mission, vision, and values of GridSource
Possess strong problem solving & decision-making skills while using good judgment
Multi-task & change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting/communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers & management
Identify opportunities for improvement while creating & implementing viable solutions
Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred.
Previous experience in the broadband industry preferred
Must develop a working knowledge of construction, NEC, OSHA regulations, state & local regulations & general safety standards
May occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 95 lbs.
Required to lift 32-foot ladder
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
May be required to climb poles (with proper equipment), ladders, & other structures
Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed
May be required to work near moving mechanical parts
Must be able to work in outdoor environments year around in all weather conditions
May be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration
May be required to work more than 40 hours per week & other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands
