Laborer [3160]

GridSource is seeking a Laborer in West Monroe, LA.

The Laborer is responsible for placing cables in trenches, splice conduit sections as directed, and more to ensure that the task is complete in a timely manner. They are also able to work with the crews and support the crews, supervisors, and project managers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment and materials.
• Has the ability to use a variety of miscellaneous tools and equipment to dig.
• Install different types of underground utility pipes.
• Has the ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Can uphold the mission, values, and safety protocols of GridSource
• Has the ability to travel to different job sites.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in the broadband industry required.
• Must have a working knowledge of construction, the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, state and local regulations and general safety standards.
• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 95 lbs.
• Required to lift 32-foot ladder.
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
• Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed.
• While performing the duties of this job, the Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The Employee must be able to work in an outdoor environment year around in all weather conditions. The Employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
• Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands and must have a class D driver’s license.
