Hearing Protection LLC (Griffin Watertown) is looking for new highly skilled team members for CNC production operator positions for multi-axis sub-spindle, single, and twin turret, turning machines.

This posting is for 85 percentile or higher ranked industry CNC Operation / production candidates, who, at a minimum, can efficiently simultaneously operate four bar fed, tool life, and tool load monitored, CNC turning machines at one time, while run production to industry quality standards, at 85% or better production rate of quality, to tolerance parts. Also, you must have strong abilities to accurately measure parts with hand gauges, use common hand tools, properly inputting tool offsets when required, to maintain a less than 5% scrap rate,

PAY RATES POSTED INCLUDE A SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL WHICH IS NOT PAID ON 1ST SHIFT/DAY OR DURING DAY VETTING .

The ideal candidate for this position has at least 5 years of CNC operation experience.
You will be supported in your vetting process by high-level skilled industry professionals who who will provide operation skill manuals detailing button presses to conduct all aspects of the job to include teaching bar loaders, etc, to support the handoff process. All operators go through an on-the-job vetting process to acclimate them to how we do production here. This job requires above average work drive/ work ethic and the ability to self-manage and self-motivate. This position will be expected to utilize the company set protocols for safe and efficient production operation.
Once fully vetted, the operator of these machines should possess the skills for operator level interaction with tool life management, tool load monitoring, as well as use of automatic tool setters to ensure quality and efficiency. Again operator books are a fall back reference that will continue to be available, but skills need to be pre established/present to facilitate efficiency. Our CNC machines are current industry technology and less than 5 years old and are well featured and equipped to produce quality parts efficiently with the support of skilled, detail-oriented operators.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination is a must. Small inserts and screws need to be changed with hand tools in order to keep the machines in operation and these items need to be handled without loss. Carbide cutting inserts must be properly installed in tool holders in order to succeed in this position.
- Problem resolution skills are required. Candidate must be able to use critical assessment to diagnose and resolve tolerance issues if required.

- Accuracy of work and attention to detail are critical. We have established protocols for safely running the machines in a step-by-step format. Adherence and respect for training and protocols are critical to success in the position.
- Production setup for production manufacturing is your primary duty in this position. You will be responsible for minimizing lost time by efficiently managing yourself and the machines.

You will be responsible for minimizing lost time by efficiently managing yourself and the machines to go from workpiece to workpiece seamlessly. While machines are running, operators should be checking parts, organizing tools, managing coolant, and materials, etc.
