Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead and oversee all aspects of our revenue cycle operations, ensuring efficient and effective billing and collections processes for our Substance Abuse and ABA billing services. The Director will play a key role in optimizing cash flow, reducing denials, improving reimbursement rates, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong leader with deep knowledge of healthcare billing, particularly within the behavioral health industry, and a track record of managing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of revenue cycle professionals, ensuring a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize the revenue cycle, improving operational efficiency and maximizing revenue for clients.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align revenue cycle goals with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance the overall financial performance of the organization and our clients.
  • Billing & Collections Management:
  • Oversee the entire billing process for Substance Abuse and ABA services, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims to payers.
  • Manage the collections process, including follow-up on unpaid claims, appeals, and resolution of denials.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate coding practices for all claims submitted to insurance companies, including ensuring compliance with CPT, ICD-10, and other relevant coding standards.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze revenue cycle metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on billing performance, collection trends, denials, and any areas of concern to senior leadership.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and account reconciliations.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
  • Ensure that all billing and collections processes comply with federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and other industry standards.
  • Stay up to date with changes in billing regulations, payer requirements, and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and adaptable to changes.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing, revenue cycle concerns, and performance updates.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on billing best practices, claim submission processes, and payer communication.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding revenue cycle expectations.
  • Team Development & Training:
  • Hire, train, and develop staff within the revenue cycle management department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing training to team members on billing software, regulatory changes, and client-specific billing protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with a strong background in Substance Abuse and ABA billing.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing a revenue cycle team, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health-related setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of billing codes, payer requirements, and the revenue cycle process for Substance Abuse and ABA services.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team to achieve operational excellence.
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle software, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and billing platforms.
  • Proficiency in healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA, and familiarity with payer contracts and reimbursement policies.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and performance improvement.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and senior leadership.
  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and revenue outcomes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
