What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager / Expeditor position at Griffin Design Inc.?
Project Manager / Expeditor (Part-Time)
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid: 2 Days In-Office, Remote Otherwise)
Industry: High-End Residential Interior Design
About Us:
We are a high-end residential interior design firm in Denver, CO, dedicated to creating thoughtfully curated, timeless spaces. We love what we do, and we do it well—with a mix of creativity, professionalism, and just the right amount of caffeine. We are looking for a part-time Project Manager/Expeditor to keep our design projects running smoothly. If you’re the type of person who finds satisfaction in checking things off a list (or multiple lists), loves a well-organized spreadsheet, and can keep track of a million moving pieces without breaking a sweat, we need you!
About the Role:
As a Project Manager/Expeditor, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes magician making sure all details of order entry, order procurement, tracking, deliveries, and logistics are handled with precision and efficiency. You’ll work closely with vendors, contractors, and our team to keep projects on track—because no one likes a delayed sofa. This role requires top-notch organizational skills, the ability to juggle (metaphorically, but literal juggling skills are a bonus), and a positive attitude when unexpected challenges arise (because they will).
This role may be a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence at least two days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the ordering process like a pro—enter data, process orders, track shipments, follow up with vendors, and ensure everything arrives on time (and in one piece).
- Keep our team informed of project timelines, delays, and solutions before anyone has a chance to panic.
- Maintain and update project schedules and logistics (we love a well-maintained spreadsheet).
- Review purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documents—because the last thing we need is an unexpected what-the-heck-is-this moment.
- Problem-solve like a champ when things don’t go according to plan (which happens, often).
- Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, clients, and team members—because ghosting is for dating apps, not business.
- Jump in to support the team when needed, with a can-do attitude and a little bit of humor (because we all need a laugh sometimes).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience in the interior design industry (or at least know the difference between a sconce and a scone.).
- Proficiency in Studio Designer (this is non-negotiable—we need someone who already knows their way around it).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (we like well-organized digital files as much as we love physical ones).
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus, but not required (if you can make magic in Photoshop, we won’t complain).
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once—like a design-world air traffic controller.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills—bonus points if you can do it all with a smile.
- Confidence, assertiveness, and a “let’s-get-it-done” attitude.
- A sense of humor is required. We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
- High school diploma required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
Why Join Us?
- Work in a creative, collaborative, and fun environment.
- Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work (but also get some much-needed human interaction twice a week in the office).
- Be part of a team that values organization, efficiency, and good vibes.
- Work on exciting, high-end residential projects that make clients’ dream homes a reality.
- A workplace that appreciates a good laugh and a well-timed joke (seriously, we like funny people).
If this sounds like your kind of job, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why you’re the perfect fit (bonus points if you make us chuckle).
