GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Inventory Clerk plays a pivotal role in our warehouse operations, responsible for conducting the daily cycle count process and spearheading the resolution of inventory discrepancies. This individual must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to employ various tools and reports to identify the underlying causes of inventory discrepancies. Attention to detail and consistency are paramount in this role, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Additionally, the Inventory Clerk must demonstrate high levels of flexibility and organization, adept at addressing multiple inventory issues concurrently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The following duties are essential to this position. Management may assign additional duties as necessary.
  • Perform daily cycle count processes and reconcile any discrepancies encountered.
  • Prioritize and promptly resolve escalated inventory discrepancies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Utilize WMS tools in Prelude to research and identify the root causes of inventory discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in utilizing these tools to enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Possess an expert level understanding of counting various product varieties within the warehouse.
  • Understand receiving and picking processes thoroughly to facilitate efficient product movement.
  • Communicate effectively with Griffin personnel outside the warehouse to address receiving and inventory-related matters.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain clear and streamlined communication channels.
  • Utilize advanced expertise to accurately count various product types within the warehouse.
  • Conduct precise inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and reliability in stock levels.
  • Demonstrate a high level of expertise in accurately counting a diverse range of products within the warehouse.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the warehouse's receiving and picking procedures.
  • Enhance knowledge of product movement, contributing to efficient warehouse operations.
  • Proficiently operate RF scanners to streamline inventory management processes.
  • Use scanning technology accurately to update and maintain inventory databases.
  • Conduct inventory counts and proactively reconcile discrepancies outside the regular cycle count processes as needed.
  • Take personal initiative to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and adherence to work schedules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous inventory control experience in another warehouse preferred but not required.

  • Exhibits the capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, efficiently managing diverse tasks and responsibilities to meet objectives.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of inventory management principles, including proficiency in conducting cycle counts and maintaining precise records.
  • Familiar with shipping procedures, including comparing identifying information, determining shipment methods, and affixing accurate shipping labels.
  • Proficient in utilizing WMS tools in Prelude, demonstrating the ability to research inventory discrepancies effectively and efficiently.
  • Exhibits exceptional attention to detail when comparing, counting, and measuring items against records and packaging labels, ensuring accuracy in inventory management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to maintain inventory, records, and ensure the efficient flow of shipments.
  • Proficient in operating pallet jacks, carts, or hand trucks, ensuring safe and efficient movement of products within the shipping and receiving area.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, speaking clearly and articulately, facilitating productive interactions with both internal and external personnel.
  • Maintains a pleasant personality and professional demeanor while interacting with colleagues and external partners, fostering positive workplace relationships.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment, demonstrating adaptability to changing demands.
  • Commitment to regular and reliable attendance, along with adherence to work schedules, as this is an in-office position.
  • Possess the confidence required to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Inventory Clerks Shipping Clerks in a warehouse typically work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The physical work environment for this role may include the following aspects:

Work Setting: The primary workspace is within a warehouse facility, which can vary in size, depending on the facility.
Temperature Variations: Warehouse is not climate control exposure to temperature fluctuations is to be expected.
Noise Levels: Warehouses can be noisy due to machinery, equipment, and the movement of goods.
Equipment Usage: Shipping Clerks frequently use warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks to transport goods and manage inventory.
Travel Requirements: N/A
Physical Demands (The physical demands outlined below are indicative of those essential for performing the job effectively. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities to facilitate the completion of essential functions): May be required to lift manually, or with machine-operated equipment, up to 50 pounds in order to move product from one area to another. Inventory Clerks are often on their feet for extended periods, moving throughout the warehouse to fulfill orders, prepare shipments, and conduct inventory checks. Lifting and carrying packages, sometimes of substantial weight, is a routine aspect of the job. Some tasks may involve repetitive motions, such as reaching, grasping, and scanning items.
