*If offered, Student must accept Hospital’s offer of employment, commence employment as set forth in the contingent offer letter, and remain actively and continuously employed as a Medical Assistant for three years.
*PROGRAM STARTS 1/13/25*
WHAT THE PROGRAM ENTAILS:
- 20 week hybrid program
- Online "instructor led" course
- 4 hour skills labs on campus each week
This unique opportunity allows students to intern at a physician’s office weekly where they can work on skills taught in class.
(Laptops required)
MEDICAL ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, accompanying patients to exam rooms.
- Documents patient history, charting, collecting specimens, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting patients as necessary.
- Performs patient screening, including documenting patient history, performing medication reconciliation and obtaining vitals.
Assists doctor with physical exam and office procedures as necessary. - Assists office coordinator with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Manages and updates patient medical records, manages referrals and prior authorizations.
- Maintains inventory of clinical equipment and supplies, including ordering and restocking when necessary.
- Obtain prior authorizations and book surgeries as needed.
*Additional responsibilities as needed.
*Required to float to other GFP offices/locations based on business need.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- High School Diploma or GED.
