What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator position at Griffin Industries Corp.?

We are looking for a team player to fill our Shipping and Receiving position working Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm. This position is 50% coordination duties and 50% material handling duties.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
- Compare shipping routes/methods and arrange for the transportation of products via outside carriers and/or Griffin vehicles and drivers
- Pack, crate, palletize, wrap and label product for shipment using a variety of tools
- Load product for shipment either manually or via fork lift truck
- Communicate shipping schedules of products with project managers
- Prepare documents using a computerized system, such as bills of lading, pack slips and inventory control tags
- Unload incoming product either manually or via fork lift truck
- Examine incoming shipments for accuracy, and deliver to various departments either manually or via fork lift truck
- Track location and inventory quantities of product using a computerized system
- Correspond with shipping companies to rectify problems such as damages or freight delays
- Keep product organized, inventoried and items marked
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies and maintain inventory of stock
- Perform periodic inventory cycle counts
- Organize shop and warehouse, making sure it is clean and safe
- Daily scheduling of drivers and shop helpers
- Create and update work instructions
- Support the Company policies and procedures and assure the consistent application of those policies
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working in shipping and receiving including logistics coordination
- Experience in safely palletizing large, heavy, odd shaped objects
- Able to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs, bend, stretch, kneel, and twist while handling product on a daily basis
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Experience in safely operating a fork lift truck
- Organized and able keep detailed, neat & accurate records
- Able to work in and contribute to a team environment
- Comfortable with a fast paced environment and a strong sense of urgency
- Able to maintain a positive attitude when faced with changing priorities and multiple tasks
- Knowledge of safety requirements of a shipping and manufacturing environment
- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, and database systems
- Able to work and communicate with a diverse set of personalities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
