Job Summary: The Sports Multimedia Journalist/Producer reports, writes, produces, and presents engaging sports content across television, digital, and social media platforms. Responsibilities include covering sports stories, conducting interviews, and creating compelling multimedia storytelling. This role also involves producing sports segments, including scriptwriting, shooting, editing, and organizing video packages, as well as managing social media accounts to engage audiences. The position works closely with the Sports Director and team to deliver high-quality, comprehensive sports coverage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Report, write, shoot, edit, and produce sports content for newscasts, digital platforms, and social media.
- Co-produce and time the rundown for a recurring 30-minute statewide sport show.
- Deliver live sports reports, and provide clear, engaging coverage of sports news and events.
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and sports figures for feature stories and multimedia content.
- Plan, produce, and execute sports segments, including pre-game, post-game, and live event coverage.
- Write scripts for stories and highlights, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with station standards.
- Create and manage engaging social media content, including breaking news, live updates, and audience interaction.
- Monitor local, national, and international sports events and trends to inform coverage plans.
- Collaborate with the sports team and newsroom to develop and execute comprehensive sports coverage.
- Edit video packages and highlights, maintaining high production quality.
- Attend sporting events and other relevant functions, which may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Uphold journalistic integrity and follow ethical guidelines in all reporting.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in broadcast sports journalism or a related multimedia role preferred.
- Strong on-air presentation skills, with the ability to deliver clear and engaging sports content.
- Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills, with attention to detail
- Proficient in video shooting and editing, with knowledge of multimedia production software.
- Experience in managing social media accounts and generating engaging digital content.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Oklahoma sports landscapes preferred.
- Knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn new systems.
- Link of work sample required.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
