Under the supervision of the Student Support Services Director, the School Counselor performs college and high school advising duties to ensure that students are completing appropriate educational requirements for high school graduation and successfully enrolling in the college or university of their choice and advises on postsecondary and career options. The school counselor supports students in developing long term plans of post-secondary and career interests. The school counselor is responsible for student transcripts and graduation plans; participates in master schedule development; coordinates caregiver meetings related to high school graduation, college applications and financial aid. In addition, the school counselor collaborates with teachers and administration to identify and support any student at risk of credit deficiency and of not graduating.
