Job Title: Elementary School Teacher/Early Childhood

About the Position:
This elementary school teaching position is available at Griffith Public School District, starting in August 2025. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, diagnostic staff, and related service providers to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
• Monitor student progress, make data-driven decisions, and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, or educational surrogate parents to keep them informed about their child's progress.
• Follow IDEA regulations, building principal policies, and district procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Participate in professional development sessions to stay updated on educational pedagogy and content area expertise.

Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a job-related area.
• Current Indiana State Teaching License.
• Successful student teaching experience in exceptionality areas.
• Proficiency in curriculum software and basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Commitment to ongoing career improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:
A successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is preferred.
