Job Description:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistants to join our team. This role involves providing routine care to residents in a nursing home setting. The Nursing Assistant will perform indirect and non-nursing services for patients under general supervision, with direct supervision by a registered nurse for patient care activities. The position requires candidates who can handle physical demands and interact effectively with residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily activities such as walking, feeding, bathing, and personal care.
- Provide support for turning, lifting, and handling patients who are immobile or need assistance.
- Regulate the number of visitors and provide information to visitors as directed by the nursing staff.
- Record and report information concerning the patient’s condition.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain nursing home equipment.
- Assist with caring for residents' clothing and belongings, ensuring valuables are properly handled.
- Assist in the implementation of personal care plans as directed by the nurse in charge.
Qualifications:
- Must have successfully completed the 100-hour Nurse’s Aide training course in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards.
- Must have passed the New York State Nurse Aide competency examination and possess a valid New York State Nurse Aide registration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to handle physical tasks and provide compassionate care to residents.
Compensation:
- Shift differential for evening shifts.
