Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Phlebotomists to join our team at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. The selected candidates will perform patient phlebotomy for inpatient and outpatient settings, including Emergency Department (ED), STAT, and timed draws. Responsibilities include:
- Performing sample processing and send-out preparation
- Ensuring patient safety through proper identification before collection and testing
- Safeguarding electronic and paper patient information
- Independently testing, evaluating, documenting, and reporting patient samples and Quality Control (QC)
- Identifying, documenting, and resolving collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues
- Providing patient-centered care in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent Phlebotomy experience
- Technical proficiency in phlebotomy procedures and best practices
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Ability to verify ongoing competency, skills, and certifications upon request
Schedule:
Shifts vary and may include day, evening, and night shifts. Weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required, but on-call or standby duties will not be necessary.
