Job Description
The Center Medical Specialist is responsible for performing physical examinations and establishing medical histories to determine donor suitability. This individual must build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction while maintaining confidentiality. The specialist will provide education on general health and counsel donors on unacceptable test results. Additionally, they will evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events. To succeed in this role, one must be educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT. Familiarity with electrical office and laboratory equipment is also necessary.
