Grigg’s ACE Hardware is seeking a qualified Merchandise Buyer to support our multiple locations in the Tri-Cities. Grigg’s/ACE Hardware’s goal is excellent service and product choices for our customers, which encourages customers to make Grigg’s/ACE Hardware their store of choice. Your role is integral to the success of that goal.
A Buyer for Grigg’s/ACE Hardware will be responsible for the planning, purchasing, and merchandising of assigned lines to maximize sales and profits for the company. Qualified candidates have an affinity for fine details, a passion for brand discovery, a high level of comfort with analytics and spreadsheets, and a love for logistics.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Purchase and auto-replenish stock orders.
- Research current trends in merchandise, ensuring the stores are relevant and competitive.
- Identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong Vendor and Customer relationships.
- Work with Store Managers communicating Merchandise Plans.
- Coordinate with the Advertisement Team for Sales and Promotions.
- Review orders and follow up on re-order inquiries.
- SKU creation and electronic inventory maintenance.
- Inventorying or counting items during the ordering process as needed.
- Perform cost updates manually or by using data import tools.
- Manage price changes.
- Maintain profit margins for assigned categories.
- Be able to use data and analysis and monitor historical sales data and trends.
- Coordinate instore promotions and advertising flyers for assigned categories.
- Manage defective returns and merchandise claims.
- General office organization and filing.
- Travel may be required.
- Perform daily duties when called upon, including merchandise transfers, receiving shipments, and remerchandising.
- Other duties as called upon and that naturally arise as the position evolves.
