The Role

What You Will Do
Project
- Provide ongoing at-desk support, troubleshooting and guidance for BIM workflows.
- Provide ongoing training to project teams in the use of BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks,Infraworks, etc).
- Attend project kick-off meetings to advise on BIM implementation.
- Contribute towards contract BIM deliverable negotiations.
- Author and maintain project BEP and collaborative documents to ensure effectivecommunication between consultants.
- Ensure any changes in practice or project standards are effectively communicated to theproject teams and implemented.
- Ensure all project BIM work complies with Grimshaw and project BIM standards.
- Set-up new project BIM files (including linked model hierarchies, survey files, building models,CAD imports, shared coordinates, etc.).
- Create project-specific and company-wide BIM content.
- Prepare project BIM models for issue.
- Liaise with BIM specialists from external parties to resolve coordination and BIM modelissues.
- Perform coordination and clash detection on models, managing and communicating results inline with Grimshaw and project standards.
- Produce federated models & COBie datasets.
- Regularly meet with local DT team.
- Contribute to and lead studio DT initiatives.
- Document exemplar work for future use and new business development.
- Develop and maintain the reputation of Grimshaw DT in the local community.
- Support the DT team in promoting DT initiatives across the studio.
- Coordinate and support the project BIM coordinators.
- Regularly meet with the BIM Lead to discuss assigned work and any feedback.
- Contribute to global DT content on Atlas (Grimshaw intranet).
- Share knowledge and feedback with global BIM team.
- Contribute to and maintain global BIM standards.
Skills and Knowledge
- Advanced proven knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
- Thorough knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud & BIM 360.
- Knowledge of Rhino and interoperability between Revit and Rhino, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of relevant QA/QC processes.
- Knowledge of model federation and coordination.
- Knowledge of programming with C# or Python is beneficial, but not required.
- Knowledge of data transformation & visualization is beneficial, but not required.
- Degree in architecture, engineering, architectural technology, or another relevant subject.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience applying BIM in practice.
- An understanding of computational concepts and software is beneficial.
- Experience of delivering projects to relevant BIM standards on large scale projects.
- Experience conducting clash detection.
- Experience in working with external design and technology collaborators.
- Experience of managing a team of specialists.
- Experience with collaborative research projects is beneficial.
- Must be able to clearly articulate advanced concepts in a way that team members of all levels can understand.
- Should possess the ability to train teams in relevant workflows and software packages.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving is required.
- The ability to rapidly pick up new software skills as required is essential.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to prioritize and balance workloads.
- Must have proven leadership and management skills.
