Grinnell Tap & Grill is a steak and seafood restaurant known for its high-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and exceptional dining experience. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and uphold our reputation for top-tier cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence in every dish
  • Bring extensive experience in steak and seafood preparation, including precise butchery, cooking techniques, and plating
  • Develop and refine menus and recipes, introducing creative dishes while maintaining customer favorites
  • Train, mentor, and manage a team of culinary professionals to maintain high standards of execution
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and kitchen organization
  • Monitor food costs, inventory, and waste to maximize efficiency and profitability
  • Work closely with management on menu pricing, specials, and enhancing the overall guest experience
  • Maintain composure under pressure during busy service hours while delivering exceptional results

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in an upscale, high-volume restaurant
  • Proven expertise in steak and seafood preparation, including grilling, aging, and presentation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build and inspire a cohesive kitchen team
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative menus while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Experience in managing costs, inventory, and supplier relationships
  • Culinary degree or professional certification preferred but not required

Pay: $52,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
