What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Coordinator/Import Logistics Coordinator (2 years required of Manufacturing supply chain) position at Grip Tight Tools?
Grip Tight Tools is a manufacturer and wholesaler for hardware products, paint products, locksmith products, tools and many more. GTT also carries a full outdoor stone and Granite line. We are a well-established hardware and stone wholesaler, selling products in our industry for over 20 years. The company is currently looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator (import experience)/ Buyer assistant.
Duties for the Import Logistics Coordinator:
1. Follow up and process international ocean import shipments.
2. Negotiate rates with various shipping lines and determine the most effective route.
3. Follow up with custom brokers on the customs clearance process.
4. Schedule deliveries to company warehouses (inbound) with trucking companies and/or our drivers.
5. Arrange the shipping documents for customs brokerage team to get the customs release and to insure ISF filing.
6. Entering shipments (bills and bill payments) in our QuickBooks system. Calculating the overall expenses per shipment (broadcasted expenses) and determine the expense ratio to reflect landed cost in QuickBooks.
Duties for Buyer Assistant:
1. Organize and maintain the main company /Purchase email.
2. Inventory broadcast management and creating purchase orders.
3. Following up with vendors during production and handling any issues that may come-up.
4. New product development: assist buyers with market study analysis, selecting vendors through research, negotiating prices, preparing new product details, creating item codes (UPC, etc.) and coordinate for the packaging designs with the marketing team. This process takes place when a new product is assigned for development.
The ideal candidate should have the knowledge in how to handle import international shipment logistics and port logistics. Looking for an employee that is motivated and willing to grow within our company. The logistic department includes the Logistics & Purchase manager and the new candidate.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in manufacturing supply chain logistics operations (required)
- References: 2 Prior References (preferred)
- Education: Bachelor's (Required)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:30-5:30 (no weekends)
- Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 / Year
