POSITION TITLE : INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST
DEPARTMENT : PRODUCTION OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO : PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
LOCATION : WINTERSET, IOWA
PRIMARY PURPOSE :
The Inventory Control Specialist has an important role within the organization as its primary purpose is to support Production and Shipping & Receiving functions. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for inventory management functions; cycle counts; material movement within the facilities; prepping, staging and organizing products.

FOCUS :
- Primarily responsible for inventory functions including, but not limited to, consumption, accuracy, and management; Takes initiative to implement new processes towards a goal of best-in-class inventory accuracy.
- Leads cycle count program. Recommends adjustment as needed.
- Ensures accurate and effective lot tracing from raw goods to finished product.
- Investigates inventory errors, determines root cause, recommends process change or training as necessary.
- Makes inventory adjustments. Effectively documents adjustments performs root cause analysis.
- Must be willing to take initiative and be accountable for inventory and material handling functions which includes scheduling and leading inventory teams, troubleshoots problems, and makes changes to the cycle count process as necessary.
- Supports production by transporting material between work areas.
- Must align activities with organizational initiatives and practices, including keeping inventory in the correct locations, and ensuring raw, component, and finished good product is identified with proper heat / lot label.
- Works with the Supply Chain Manager as needed to ensure product and parts are properly labeled.
- Operate forklift, material handling equipment, and tools safely.
- Work closely with Production Scheduler, and Production / Shipping Supervisors.
- Works as One Team regardless of position, shift, or assigned job to ensure Grip-Tite’s success.
- Support and backfill for the Shipping and Receiving Associate as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching all day with the ability to be mobile throughout required work areas. The employee may frequently lift and / or move items up to 75 lbs.

Competitive Hourly Pay - based on qualifications and experience. OT may be required based on business need.
