Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Estimator to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will conceptualize and design automated systems, estimate costs and lead times, and ensure technical feasibility and functionality. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in designing, building, and commissioning automation solutions, as well as a strong ability to troubleshoot and address challenges throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop feasible concepts for electro-mechanical systems, components, and products.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to create and pitch proposals to customers.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate designs.
  • Balance attention to detail with timely results in daily work.
  • Work closely with engineering teams and customers to ensure the feasibility and functionality of proposed solutions.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices across various industrial processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and customers.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and overhead associated with automation projects.
  • Oversee the development and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts.
  • Work closely with clients to refine project specifications and address concerns.
  • Create and maintain detailed records of design decisions, cost analyses, and timelines.
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and commissioning automated systems.
  • Proven ability to identify and address failure modes in processes, products, and materials.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Roboguide, Excel and related software tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering materials.
  • Experience with animation software for client presentations or process simulations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and HMI development.
  • Ability to conduct thorough feasibility studies and simulations.
  • Experience in vendor coordination for sourcing components and materials.
